One of Iowa's most significant civil rights leaders, Alexander Clark, Sr., was the second black graduate of Iowa's law school, in 1884 (his son was the first, in 1879). He's also been utterly forgotten by history. I try to remedy that here, with a story about an alumnus who's trying to preserve Clark's home in Muscatine.
